Hidden Falls - 28-30 Sept (Houston)
DUDE !! Hohertz you are running a 4' lift and 315 tires. You will have no problems with the majority of the trails there. Just make sure you take some recovery gear and a winch, if you have one. Also air down your tires, it helps trust me !

HAHA, Thanks Sapper. Yea guess I should have mentioned that up front. I'm like you though, this is my only vehicle so don't want to get too crazy with it. Anyways, both my Dad and I are running about the same size lift and tires (his is a '83 CJ-7) with winches. So we should be good. I will post some pics and hopefully videos next week. Thanks again!
Most of the hard stuff (4-6) has a bypass. If I recall, I think the rating system is setup so that 1 is like a farm road, 2 is for stock vehicles, 3 is for slight mods, 4 is for bigger tires and lift, and 5 and 6 are for custom rigs. In practice, our stock JK's are more like a slightly modded 4x4 right out of the factory, and a stock Rubicon may qualify as a 4 with the right tires. It's not exact, and I noticed that some of the obstacles were marked differently on the map than they were on the trail.
My bone-stock 2012 JKU Sport, with the slick-ass tires and D30 and no lockers, had no problems with most of the 3's when it was dry. There was a 4 I could have tried, but I didn't want to ruin anything just yet. I'll wait until I've put bigger and more grippy tires and a little lift on there.

A JK or JKU with 4" of lift and 37's can do most level 5's with no issues. 35's might have to fight it a little harder, depending in the obstacle. But as the terrain at HF changes every weekend, you never really know until you get there.
Most places will have a bypass. 3" lift with 35's can do most if not all level 4's without bypasses and most level 5's.
At least that has been my experience. There is one level 6 and my buddy in a CJ buggy with 42's cannot run it.

I am ready for the next run. Anybody thought about another trip to Hidden Falls later in the month or early in November? I even have a working winch now!
Sapper: Are you still thinking of installing an aftermarket stereo?

I'm always thinking about my next upgrade, lol ! I have to work in Humble towards the end of the month and should have the weekend off because it conflicts with my normal schedule. I will let you guys know when I can confirm that information and setup another run.
I know that in late January or early February I will be up in Dallas working, so I was thinking about going to Barnwell Mountain.
