Default Long Ranch

Some friends and i are going camping this weekend close to where long ranch is and i am thinking about heading over that way on sat. looking at the website it almost reads that you have to be in club and have a group to go out there with out actually saying it. anyone know about this? ever been there and have advice about it?

call joe at the ranch and talk to him, generally speaking it is a bad idea to go wheeling alone anyhow. most open weekend there will be some groups there though and you can tag along with someone who knows their way around

I think Longs is closed right now. But check with Joe and find out. Do not go alone! There are a few trails that look easy but you can break something real easy. Go with someone with a winch if you don't have one. It's a blast though. Check out the texas size jeep meet 2008 for some of the pics.

well my plans might have changed anyway as my wife was in hit and run accident last night after i posted. I don't think that riding in bouncing jeep will be good for her whiplash.

Damn sorry to hear.

Is she ok? Did they catch the person who hit her?

thanks for asking. She has some whiplash but otherwise is not hurt. after the doctor this morning we will know more. She wasn't able to get the whole license plate, although it did leave some marks on her bumper so we are going to do some photoshop csi and see if we can't figure it out. they might total her car which is paid off so now we will have 2 car payments which sucks.

Joe called me back and yes he is closed right now. He did say he would open on weekends that are not labeled as open if there 10 or more jeeps. FYI

I'm not a hunter. Not that I have anything agin it; I just never could afford a lease. Anyway; Joe is closed for deer hunting season and I think he opens back up in March (real soon). I was there last Mar for my first time to really go off-road and had a blast. Met a bunch of cool folks as well.
