Hey guys, I'm around Crockett right now, but am in Huntsville and Lufkin just as much. There are a few parks around here, but mostly mud, not many climbs. General sams in Huntsville, and Shiloh ridge in alto are the two big ones in this area.

I live just north of Longview. Right now my JK is out of the game but hopefully soon she'll be on the trails again.

If y'all haven't done so already, join the lonestar jeep club (lsjc.org). We hit Gilmer all the time and have all kinds of discounts for jeepers. It's $30 a year but the discounts pay that back quick. Great group of guys and gals.

not quite far enough east to call "east texas", but i'm in royse city. we frequent gilmer, bridgeport and hot springs...and with the weather so nice recently, we're regularly just cruising the back-country roads topless/doorless enjoying the weather.

You need to check out B.R.M.A. (Gilmer), they have a web site and it is in your back yard, everything out there from mild to wild. As far as a local club LSJC is a good group to run with.

Barnwell/Gilmer is definitely the "business" in off road parks. Arguably the best in Texas. I'm up for a trip most weekends. I work in Tyler and live in Palestine do an extra 20 or 30 minutes further out from Tyler is no big deal. I'm subscribed to this thread so y'all holler of you're heading out.

Another place is Alto and I've heard good things out there. The one on my backyard out in Jacksonville, "River Run" is geared more for the ATV enthusiast. I went out there and was kinda disappointed.
