Default Military Trailers

I'm wondering what the price is on those nifty (that word makes me sound old) military trailers a few of you had. Where did you pick them up? What did you have to do to restore it, get it registered, etc?

I've been able to find some online auctions and info within the Texas area for Texarkana, but what about San Antonio or Oklahoma? I see lots of them all over the country, but I need one in reasonable driving distance.

AND...if you were going to restore or build one, what modifications would you make (ie. fold out grill, hard cover with hydraulics, rhino-lined, etc) ?

PM Redneckhouston if he doesn't reply to the thread. He got a great deal from a military museum, who had a few more at the time. I think all he had to do to it was paint and lights. It looks like a great trailer. I think he spent around $500.

When I saw the hitch, the first thing that went through my mind was "Military".

Most of the online spots sell them for around $600.

Where are you seeing @$600? I'm seeing auction/bidding style which just depends on who is watching it that week, or listing for $1000+.

All of the decent condtion ones I have seen have all been upwards of $1000.
Thats what I just got this one for and thought I got a great deal.

That was after looking for over a year for a good one.

That one looks brand new. Looks like it is one of the Canadian M101's built in 1992 that so many are sitting up in Canada never used still today. I found a place up there that bought a bunch of them and wants $800 for them...but then says to add $50 for customs, plus shipping, plus lights/wiring... If I thought I could get it shipped down here to Texas for $100 it wouldn't be a bad deal...just not a great deal either.

I think I'm going to keep searching the government auctions for a bit and hope I get lucky.

yep it is a Canadian M101. Only rust on it is a little on the springs otherwise it looks new. Came with all working lights, a nice cover and a reciver type pintle hitch. I'm fabing up a top for it now that will be just like the Chaser Adventure trailers with a roof top tent. Going to start the hemi swap in a couple weeks to help pull it

How come your top is white? Did you have that painted yourself or was that a factory option? I really like it.

I've seen several of those around town lately. Seen a brown/beige one too. I'm guessing that they are OEM ones available now ???
