Default Texas bound!

So I just accepted a position I dallas and will be moving down on may 5th. I am crazy excited, and nervous.

My question, I will be renting for a while, and have no idea where to start on looking for properties, or where to live. The position is in north Dallas.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Thanks guys! I will definetly be googling.

Maybe you can answer these questions. Best pizza? Best Sports Bar? Best Mexican restaraunt?

Single? Married? Kids? How old are you?
How old are kids?

All factors I need to know. I'm in carrolton. Grew up in the park cities.

Gay? Straight?

Heh, makes a difference!?!?! Heh

28, Married, no kids, 1 dog. Straight. I was looking at apartments in Ricardson since it's close. I have no idea if this is a good place to live or not. Thoughts?

Look in the Addison area. Or uptown McKinney area. Younger, singles, good restaurants. Ages 20 to low 30s.

Richardson is nice and safe, but older.

Apartments along Preston road just north of LBJ is a pretty good area too. Some are low rent but as you get north a bit past beltline it gets nicer.

Dallas is weird. You can see a real nice loft next to a broke down house. So get used to that. But I agree with McKinney. Live anywhere around North Park mall. But on the Mall side of 75 the other side of 75 is shady. Anywhere along North west highway. Get an apartment locator. Try to live somewhere where you're driving against traffic in the mornings.
