Default Trip Report...teaser

Well, we're on our way home from Colorado. Should get in tomorrow evening sometime. Had a great time, covered a lot of territory, some hard, some was almost relaxing. Didn't break anything, got to use my winch.

We did Engineer Pass, the Alpine Loop (both ways), Stoney Pass starting at 520 out of Creede, Poughkeepsie Gulch, Corkscrew, Hurricane Pass, Yankee Boy Basin, that's all I can think of right now.

Here are a couple of pics until I can get the rest re-sized.

Looks/sounds like you guys had a great trip Bert. I can't wait to do Eng-Pass and a few other trails out there.

Here are a few more, my buddy's wife took a lot and I haven't got them from her yet.

this is right after I went over the wall at Poughkeepsie Gulch.

Looking down from Hurricane Pass

Yankee Boy Basin was down there somewhere, we actually hiked up that one.

It was very cloudy up on Engineer pass, at times we were driving in the clouds with very little visibility, kinda creepy.

I wanna go there! maybe I will get to in the fall? Do you know how late these trails are accessible before the snow gets too much? Does it get too much for jeeps?

This is the latest I've ever been up there. September is supposed to be good, and I think even some of October is ok, I guess you'd just have to watch for the snow. I know on some of the trails that if there were snow on them I wouldn't try it even if they were open.

You might want to ask the question over in the Four Corners page, there are several guys over there that live there and could give you better info than I could. I'd love to go in Sept, they say the trees are nice and there is less rain. Right now it's raining every day.
