Where to Wheel MetroPlex
Eh Big Clint, be careful going to 360 right now! On a nother forum, the guys are saying that the poppo is patroling the west side of the property and are trying to nab guys that are wheeling it! The land is not technically legal to wheel and the police love to give tickets for it! The police wont come after you on the property, they will nab you when you leave! One of the guys on the other forum said he thought they are just after under age drinkers but no one is sure!
That's good to know. Was planning to head out there Friday. I never drink out there and stay away from those that do. I can't imagine what they could pull me over for once off the property besides intoxication or such. On the property would be trespassing. I may head out there anyway and look for some on the streets and just ask them if there's any problems and what they are enforcing. Thanks for the heads up!
Any pics of 360? It seems so dang cool now...i love running from the little piggys...I do kinda worry that one of my students would be there and see me getting arrested, or see me in jail. I guess thats half the fun!
Went out there for a few hours mid-day-ish on Friday. It seemed a little different. Only saw 1 vehicle besides the guys with me, and that was a dad and his sons with a bike and quad in the truck. He said that he hadn't heard of anything bad lately, and that a cop even followed him to the place. As soon as he turned in, the cop went the other way. Really thinking they are cracking down on under-age drinking, trash dumping, and illegal activities other than wheeling.
As for the land, it seemed like there were a few large pieces of debris that had been pulled up towards the front. There were locks on the few gates there are, but nothing put in the way of the normal open access road. There's also a large area with an old tin building and some abandoned cars, which, unless my mind is playing tricks on me, it seemed like the building was gone and the majority of cars were also missing.
The whole thing left me with the impression that the land is being cleaned up and that enforcement of trespassing may soon begin. I honestly did not have a single problem out there, and has always been my reason for going when it is not busy and in the middle of the day so that it is obvious to any legal enforcement that I am not doing anything other than wheeling.

Yeppers. Probably was me. 4dr blue JK, no doors, with Safari and duster. Got more compliments there than the new rigs they were selling.
Did you stop in there? I signed up for the 'free' club, but was NOT impressed by anyone's knowledge that I talked to besides the folks that drove in. Supposed to get discounts and such, but since we have Screaming Lizard as a sponsor, I'll send my business their way. In fact, the first guy I talked to I asked "is this a JK-centric group, Jeepers, or what" and he looked at me with a blank stare. Hilarious. And another guy I asked about the bumper/tire carriers and he asked me what I called it again when he went to write it down. Rediculous.
And the few Jeeps they had modified looks like they were charging about $10k for a lift and wheels? Wish I had that kinda money laying around. I haven't spent half that and I feel like I have more on my JK than those. I did go by 4wp also and put in an order for the new Smittybilt rock sliders. List for $289 - 20% for their sale put me at $266. Only thing is they aren't due in until August, but I just couldn't pass up the sale.

Yeah, i was the guy that said the fab fours bumper cost 1k. I looked it up on Quad and was only 300 off, as opposed to Moritz being 500 over. Nice jeep btw.
I have a problem with Grubbs though, and i might just call them and tell them. When i was looking for my jeep, grubbs was TOTALLY disrespectful to my wife, the guy wouldn't even shake her hand! It pissed me off, so i hate to support them.

Well...nice to meet you. Car dealers are totally weird. I'm not overly impressed with any dealer as they all have their quirks. I happened to buy at Moritz last August because I was shopping all around, knew about what I wanted, and when I stopped there I saw the 2008s which I didn't know were out...so bought an '08 for a couple hundred more than an 07...always better to get a 'B' model or second year of a new body style IMO.
Screaming Lizard and Grubbs' support of them is my primary reason to visit there. Likely to be the more 'mod friendly' dealership in the area.
