Dang. Forgot about that place. But, I'm gonna have Curtis. Maybe I'll stuff a telescope in the JK to use while the rest of you all go imbibe a few at the local pub.

I'm sure it will be - but I'll be drinking cheap, so I probably won't be heading over there. Heck, its packed every weekend - not just the holiday weekends.

And I have every intention of buying the first one for him.

Default Room for one more newbie?

I was in search of some NW Arkansas area trails when one of your fellow JK-Forum Disney OK Run founding fathers forwarded me this thread. I'm interested in going if you have room for a beginner. Beginner may be an exaggeration - I have no experience but am wanting to learn. If this isn't a run for a beginner let me know - I'm cool with that and don't want to hold up anyone.

I'm a little confused on timing though - are you all getting in late Thursday/early Friday and then wheeling all day Friday? We had made plans for the 4th of July weekend, but this really sounds like a good time so I was going to try to make some deals with the wife.

The more the merrier, as far aw trails there are plenty that are unrated.

Me and Big A will be there Friday sometime around noon, and plan on staying all weekend.

We hadn't discussed any details as far as timing, but I would imagine we were going to meet friday morning and wheel all day friday. I'm sure some people might do some wheeling on saturday as well. There are plenty of places for newbies to play...and there will be enough people that it should be a great opportunity for you to learn more about OR driving.

Sounds like most people will be coming in friday morning. I think Jason was coming in thursday night. I'll be there all week.

Also, if you do come - I see you're in Rogers. I've actually driven from Rogers to Disney on the backroads before and I don't recommend it. (Lived in Bentonville/Bella Vista for a summer) It's quicker to take 412. That is, unless you just prefer the scenic route.

JKsJK,

All of the group that I have wheeled with are pretty sensible people who understand that we have a long, long drive home after the fun. We don't set out to break rigs or get anyone over their heads. Most are pretty helpful and will help spot you if you are in an uncomfortable situation. At the last SMORR run we did, we had someone who had never off-roaded before and it was the first time he took his Jeep on the trail. With your setup that I see in your signature, you should be fine keeping up with the others.

I am going to be there thursday night, I will drive up after work, probably be in Disney around 8pm. I plan on wheelin most of friday and maybe saturday. We have been discussing a SMORR run (about 160 miles east) on saturday or sunday, we will figure that out friday night.

Cool. I'm in. I'll plan on getting over there Friday morning (via 412) and staying the day. Looking forward to it. Thanks.

Also, I've been looking through the offroad 101 threads - but if you guys think of things that every newbie forgets to bring, let me know.
