I was thinking about doing a Colorado trip and running some of the passes the last week of July or first week of August and wondering if anyone would be interested?????

 

We're headed to Colorado on the 10th of July and will be back on the 24th or the 25th. Whereabouts in Colorado are you heading to?

 

I was thinking about Ouray? I have never been to Colorado and have been trying to find some of the better trails and routes.

 

We'll be in Ouray approx. on the 13th - 15th of July. Taking a 2 week vacation - roughly 15 days when you figure in the weekends, and trying to cover most of Colorado. Will be doing several trails while we're there - nothing real technical since a breakage wouldn't be a good thing when you're that far away from home. Plus, this is our family vacation, so we'll be doing some fun stuff while we're there like riding the Durango - Silverton train ride, some white water rafting, hiking, sight seeing, etc.

Here are a few of the trails and passes we'll be doing while there; we may add a few more when we actually get there depending on how much time we have, etc.:

• Cinnamon Pass
• Engineer Pass
• Red Mountain Pass
• Black Bear Pass
• Corkscrew Gulch
• Alta Lakes
• Imogene Pass
• Hancock Pass
• Tincup Pass
• Halfmoon Creek

I know there are a few other forum members that have their own plans on being in the area around the same time.

 

Sounds like you guys are going to have a lot of fun! I dont think I could pull off a full two weeks. I wish I could. I heard there is a jeep meet at the end of july, the mile high jeep something... Thanks for the trails list! hopefully I can get a few jeep go with.

 

I can't wait . I'm sure you'll have fun . Hopefully you can get a few jeepers around to go along - jeeping is always more fun in groups (or packs! )

 

The mile high jeep club is putting on the all for fun in silverton the 1st week in august.I'll be attending that.Check it out . mhjc.org
