Y don't you just lend me yours for a short time while it is being sold. I am sure could find a great use for your transfer case while I already have the trans out of mine.

Bummer to here, I was betting it was going to be the slave cylinder. I have never done a clutch before, how far did they get into it to determine it was the clutch and not another componet.

It will be gone in 2 weeks, come on out and get it. I'll just leave the keys in it for you.

From talking to the service rep, they did not dig into it. I think they just tried driving it and figured that since they could not get it into gear, it was a bad clutch. But I know for a fact that you can get it into gear(it is difficult) and it drives fine. There is no clutch slippage or anything else that makes me think it is a bad clutch. I am going to try replacing the slave tomorrow and take the problem from there.

That might be a bad idea. If I borrowed it, I might have to swap out the whole drivetrain.

It sure doesn't sound like they really troubleshoot it, does it? How does the clutch pedal feel? If it's loose, I'd suspect either a leak in the hydraulic fluid (assuming it's properly filled up), or a bad master or slave cylinder. You haven't had the brakes worked on recently, have you? If the hydraulic fluid reservoir drained empty while working on the brakes, it might let air into the clutch side.

I have not had any brake work done recently and I did not see any leaks near both of the cylinders. The pedal does not feel any different than it did. The only thing I can say is that it did happen pretty quick but while it was going out, I had to push the pedal in more as the drive went on.

I do not know what they really have done on the troubleshooting end of it. It seems like they really did nothing and when I first talked to the service rep he sounded like it was a very quick troubleshoot.

I might have to call them again.

Get this, I drive the Jeep off of the dealer's lot and nothing is wrong with the Jeep. All they did was troubleshoot the clutch issues and they said it needed a new clutch.

I have talked to a couple of people and they have all agreed that it is the slave cylinder and it might have some dirty in it. I guess this was correct because it drive just like it was new again. I am glad I did not spend $1200 on a new clutch.
