I just heard back from them today and they are telling me that the rear diff. is shelled.spider gears are completly shot and ripped apart.they are telling me C/D said that this is due to the 35" tires and has nothing to do with the fact that they tore the rear end apart and replaced all the bearings(under war.) less than 1200 miles ago and they can't cover this under warranty.the dealership said that they will try to help me with what they can, they are checking for a used rear end,and checking around for better prices because they are wanting $2650 plus tax to replace it with a factory rear end but advised me not to replace factory because it will most likely just do it again.i have not looked it to the diff. myself.i'm going to pick it up in the morning and then i can see how much damage is really done.
On the bright side looks like i will be upgrading my front and rear ends a little sooner that i planned.

I would fight it because you know that line they fed you is bullshit!

IF you lose the battle, just order a D60 for the rear and we'll install it. No need to shell any money to those assholes anymore if they aren't going to help you out.

Sounds like a road trip to go pick the goods and some of that good Texas beer. I have a good friend that is a mechanical engineer who does tranny work on the side, and could help diagnose the cause of the failure.

I did get to look inside my diff yesterday and my pinion gear is chipped and the pin that runs through my spider is sheared off at both ends. within the next couple of weeks (i hope) i will be heading down to texas to pick up some D44's front and rear. then i can just throw them in. and by March be back up and running.
