Default Manual Transmission Drain Tool

I just thought I'd throw this one out there for all the Tulsa area JKers....

I spent 2 or 3 hours driving all over Tulsa looking for a 17mm Hex bit and another 2.5 hours grinding it down into a useful size to use on the manual transmission drain port.

If any of you stick shifting JKers in or around Tulsa need to change your transmission fluid hit me up and I'll help lend a hand (schedule permitting).

Changing the fluid is literally a 15 minute job once you have the right tools

i went the coupler nut route. figured it would be softer for cutting. used a dremel tool for the cutting. what did you use to get the fluid in the trans and transfer case

I picked up two of these at Atwoods:

They are labeled "Marine Lower Unit, Flush and Fill Pump"... not sure what a "Marine Lower Unit" is, but if you simply remove that silver screw looking thing at the end of the hose it instantly becomes a "Transmission and/or Transfer Case Fluid Pump"

They are from a company called Lumax and the part number is LX-1348. They fit standard quart sized bottles.

It pumps very well.

For a whole quart I probably had to pump 50+ times, so it took a few minutes to do a single quart. But, there is relatively little back pressure while pumping, so 50 pumps sounds like it would have made my arms very sore, but surprisingly not.

Since the manual transmission fill port is up much higher than the transfer case's, I had to put the quart bottle on my stomach so the tube would reach. Even then, it was luckily not painful.

I'd highly recommend you try and find a couple.
