_nyone interested in trimming there fenders. I am thinking of trying it. I would also consider triming the front bumper too.

I don't think I'll be trimming mine, but if you want to schedule a get-together to do yours, I might try to make it up that way.

That does sound like a good road trip! A little fender trimming, a little beer, a little dirty St. Louis girl....... I can do that.

If you guys want to meet here in the middle, we can use the bays at the Auto Craft Shop on Fort Leonard Wood. They have huge bays and all kinds of tools available in case of a problem. Plus I have an extra stock front bumper in case you f*ck yours up. The bays run at around $5 or so an hour, and they have a sawzall and air tools available. I am looking just at possibly cutting the front part of the fenders off.

This is the look I want:

Thanks a lot army cop that sounds like a plan!

Is that good with everyone else, too meet up with army cop.

If we time it right, and I am willing to get enough beer you guys could help me put on my 2.5inch TeraFlex spring lift too if you wanted, lol. Cause I am NOT mechanically inclined at all. I want to paint all the springs and parts to my lift neon green, so it may take an extra 20 min to let them dry, most I will paint before I come down.

I found a really neat thread about cutting the bumper and screwing the ends back on with a little overlap. Since I am doing my accents in neon green I thought that neon green screws holding it back on may look cool.

Here is my JK

That bumper and fenders are crying and begging to be trimmed!!!

I want to do my fenders wider like this

or this

I am trying to save the money to do the lift before xmas or it will be right after what works best for you all?

I am so excited

They have lifts in almost all the bays, floor jacks, and they are heated until someone opens the doors.

Mo wrangler and jkmatt are you guys gonna come and help too?

1. What would be good dates for everyone?

2. Army how long do you think we should rent a bay for? Like 8am till 1 or 2?

3. How booked up is it in December. Or would we need to wait till January?

4.
Would a week day or a weekend day be better for everyone? I can take a vacation day so it doesn't matter for me.

5.
Another question: big A said he would give me his shocks from a rustys lift, would it be better to use those or my stock shocks?

6.
Can you drink at the shop armycop or do we need to find another place to drink after? I am just talking about having a couple beers while we work, towards the end more likely.

7.
Do I need to by wheel spacers too????? I read in a thread about the coil lift some are saying I will need the spacers for stock wheels?? I may not have that much money right before xmas?

I will bring a bunch of beer and water/soda and some footlong sandwiches or maybe a big crock pot of chili - (I was a Chef for a few years).

Anyone else want to join up (uh hum mike) we could use the help cause I will be worthless other than passing beers and tools?

Red

As soon as week pick a date and have a crew I will order the lift from TF and sand and paint it.

Army I have seen a few posts of the fenders trimmed like you are thinking I think it would be easy. We may use that extra bumper of yours though, I haven't found a good write for the stock bumper like we will be trying. We may have to get a little creative.

I can do it any weekend in december except the 13th as long as I have enough money to cover the wheel spacers and the coil lift. If I don't need the spacers or someone has some for sale cheap that would help.

Or I know I will have the money after the 23rd of DEC. I get paid the 23rd of every month.

1. What would be good dates for everyone?

It's only 10 min from my house, so I am pretty flexible on date, prefer a weekend.

2. Army how long do you think we should rent a bay for? Like 8am till 1 or 2?

You can just get a bay and use it until you are done. I would say guesstimate 4 hours for a lift, I don't know about fenders.

3. How booked up is it in December. Or would we need to wait till January?

I dont know what their holiday schedule is. I have to call tomorrow.

4. Would a week day or a weekend day be better for everyone? I can take a vacation day so it doesn't matter for me.

Weekend or day after a holiday for me.

5. Another question: big A said he would give me his shocks from a rustys lift, would it be better to use those or my stock shocks?

Depending what lift you have, you will need longer shocks or extenders.

6. Can you drink at the shop armycop or do we need to find another place to drink after? I am just talking about having a couple beers while we work, towards the end more likely.

No alcohol in the shop, it's a gov't building.

7. Do I need to by wheel spacers too????? I read in a thread about the coil lift some are saying I will need the spacers for stock wheels?? I may not have that much money right before xmas?

Not sure, each lift is different. The spacers look good and push the wheels out further giving you 3" of extra track width, I would go for them anyway it will look less "tipsy".
