Default Missouri Mirror Law

Just thought I would throw this out there for all MO jeepers that go doorless.

4. Mirrors: All motor vehicles which are so constructed or loaded that the operator cannot see the road behind such vehicle by looking back or around the side of such vehicle shall be equipped with a mirror so adjusted as to reveal the road behind and be visible from the operator's seat.

I have used in the past, just one of those baby mirrors that stick to the front glass. Put it on the left side so that I can see some of the road. when not in use, just pop off and stick in center console or glove box.

When I first got my Jeep last year, I tried searching different Jeep forums for mirror laws in Missouri. Didn't have much luck. Finally searched through the statutes at moga.mo.gov and found exactly what you posted here.

Nice of you to post this here for others that might not know.

Same here in Springfield, talked to them and a couple local police officers and everyone is ok with no side mirrors as long as you have a rear view. Said that wasn't something they were really watching for, but would use it to pull you over if they thought you were drinking and driving.

I'm from Belleville Illinois and travel over to Missouri almost everyday in my jeep with no top and doors. I do not have a mirrow relocation kit on my jeep and I have yet to be bothered on either side of the river for it.
