Default Moving to Oklahoma

Well boys and girls i am moving from Socal to Sallisaw Ok. I found out its about 100 miles south of disney. I got my orders in November but I wan't sure how permanent they were after a slight altercation between my motorcycle and a bus.
I am stoked. I can finally enjoy the outdoors again, and even have four seasons along with it. I have researched the sallisaw area about as much as possible. Does anyone have any local knowledge about the hunting, fishing, and offroading. I would assume waterfowl is great. But I haven't heard to much about deer and hog. I will most likely be able to find places to have fun with the jeep. But more knowledge is better.

Man you got a lot of options down there - you'll be pleased. Tons of good hunting, tons of lakes, plenty of places to wheel - and close to many more in texas and arkansas. But you'll be close to all the wheeling in the Clayton area.

Theres no shortage of deer anywhere in Oklahoma, and I have a buddy who hunts a lot of hogs in the state too and in Texas. Lots of good fishing in those parts.

If you're a hunter, you're not going to have any problems - welcome, can't wait to have ya - and hopefully we can show you around Disney once you get here.

i am absolutely done with socal. I was in the UP of michigan before being here and it will be nice to see some normal weather once I leave here. Besides some of the laws here in california drive me nuts. I close on my house on the 25th of June and should be good and settled in my labor day. I appreciate the responses so far.

Make sure and get your fix of In-and out burger before you leave. You will also notice they put cheese all over our tex-mex food here. I will agree you will have no shortage of hunting or fishing.

About the weather as everybody say, it is crazy. Last Saturday it snowed and on Sunday it was 80 degrees.

Welcome to Oklahoma, Knland! FYI: You'll be close to the Ouachita Mountains, the name for which was derived from the Native American word "Washitah" (good hunting grounds). Clayton is in that area. And it's a beautiful drive in the fall, when the colors are truly reminiscent of New England.
