Went to the gun range today...again. But this time H&H in OKC with my dads workers. Shot the usual 9mm...but also got to play with a PLR-16. Too bad it has to be classified as a pistol even though it started out basically as an M-16. So now that the #2 gun on my list to buy as soon as i turn 21. That thing was beyond fun.
Heres a short and sweet video that some what gives you an idea. My friend / dads worker who owns it is an ex-marine sniper. He fitted his with a red-dot scope. Shook the whole shooting range room when we fired it.

I never really had a fascination when i was younger..which im suprised about. I always knew my dad had a 9mm and .22 while growing up, but it wasnt until last year when he took me to the range that I got into it. He taught me all he knew and I just took off with it. Its now my hobby right next to the jeep. I want to try and become a good all around shooter. So i am probably buying a Remington 870 soon, since im under 21 and i can buy one. But I love handguns. they are fun. Your boys will definitely love shooting them. I started out with my dads guns, now i rent or shoot anything i possibly can get my hands on. Our friend with the PLR-16 offered to take me out to an outdoor range with some long distance rifles, so he will help me with his sniper knowledge and have a day outside shooting long distance.
When it comes to shotguns though, Mossberg. Check out the 500 and 590 Special Purpase models, like the Chainsaw, Road Blocker (muzzle brake), Rolling Thunder, and Cruiser (w/ pistol grip and standoff barrel).
I have a Glock 21 with modified recoil and firing pin springs, tungsten guide rod and 3.5lb connector, just need a new trigger spring.

I have no idea what sparked his fascination but the kid's big time into wanting to watch Top Shot and shows of the kind. Which I let him watch by DVR'ing it seeing as the show comes on late at night. But he has to get his grades up before he gets any chance at shooting practice
