Going to have a talk with my dad soon about getting the 2.5" Teraflex Coil lift...he doesnt like me doing major things when im still in warranty, but I pay for the Jeep, and parts, so yeah...its just always a battle with him. But i still live under his roof.
most dealerships will still warranty anything under a 2.5" lift ....well that is what the warranty manager said when I bought mine so who knows

Unfortunately, the technical answer is they will warranty you vehicle regardless of modifications so long as the modification did not (or could not have reasonably) contributed to the failure at hand.

However... the reality is that several forum members have reported dealers getting picky about ANY modifications to a vehicle. Just take WOL's run-in for example

It's a world of a difference between what they legally can do and what what they really do

Back it in the garage and let the front poke out? Wait, that didn't come out sounding right

Well, you're right - in that, technically, unless a component failed directly because of a modification made to the Jeep, they HAVE to warranty it, if it's a covered item. For example, if I blow a head gasket, they can't not warranty it because I have a lift on. On the other hand, if I blow my R&P, or a transfer case, and they see my oversized tires and aftermarket driveshafts, guess what - they can and will most likely void warranty coverage on the affected components - and rightfully so. I wouldn't expect a dealership, manufacturer or warranty company to cover a part that failed because of something I modified knowing what I was doing. However, many dealerships will try to use the lift and modifications as a way out from having to cover items under warranty.
