Default Info on Jeep for rent..

OK! I'm in Canada here.. IF i dont want to travel with my JK on the road to Utah... Is the Jeep's rentals worth the value ? I dont want to get stuck with a old stock TJ or something like that.. Still hesitate between doing the road to Utah with mine OR simply rent a Jeep near MOAB..

MOAB starting to drive me crazy.. dont want to miss it this year

Whats your advice... rent one or drive mine to Utah ? ...

( I've got good tires now and front disco's. )

I know if you fly into salt lake city you can rent a stock x at the airport and take it out on the trails. I know this does not sound like a lot of fun but there are lots of trails you can do with a stock jeep. You might be able to reserve a rubi if you are lucky.

Farabees has JKs modified with 35s. I took one out a few years back. There is also another rental place that has pretty nice jks. They will limit which trails you can run but you can still rent one and run some pretty good stuff. I took on through golden spike two years ago. It would be worth renting rather than driving from canada.

The rental jeeps are very capable..but as mentioned, the rental companies limit what trails can be done.

I don't know that they limit where you can go because they have a "you break it you bought it" policy.

I believe that most accidental damage to their Jeeps can be covered by your personal auto insurance.

Two years ago I showed up late without reservations. I went to Cliffhanger and one other rental place which I elected not to rent from after seeing the list of trails I could not go on. It was really stupid; almost every named trailed rated above a 3 was on the list.

Farrabees fortunately had a cancellation at the last minute and was able to get a jeep for the day. They told me I could go on any trail I could afford. I proceeded to take their brand new (first rental)stock 4 door rubicon up the rim. They had zero complaints upon return even though I had obviously scrapped the wheels, rock rails and rear bumper on the rocks. Farrabbees was easy to deal with and would highly recommned them.

Yes, they have a three day minimum for reservations and I think the price at that time was $295 a day. But the one day rental convinced the wife we needed one for the family.
