Default 07 JKU with 42RLE issue?

Jeep fam I need some help before I lose it..

so after developing a nasty knock, replacing 2 rod bearings and thinking I was back to normal. Drove work fine, drove home and in the driveway developed a jerking motion at idle and stalled. Started up again and idled fine, went into reverse and sounded a little clunky and stalled. So I dropped the trans pan put in a new filter and fresh oil. No more clunky noises.
Yet still when I shift into reverse or drive she stalls, sometimes just dies and other times with a lunge and dies. Please someone help me out. I’ve had no transmission or shifting issues before this, no check engine lights or codes recently. What should I try?

lifted with 35’s and 4.88 gears…. Hopefully this didn’t kill the trans

Did you pull the engine for the rod work?

The symptoms you have could indicate the torque converter lock-up clutch is not releasing.

TC clutch may be sticking or being told by ECU to lock is what it sounds like. Should be servicing that tranny every year or so like 20,000miles.

Solenoid or anything that could be causing that? Or am I looking at getting a new TC?

So should I pull the transmission pan again and try replacing the “kickdown solenoid” as it is referred to on RockAuto??

You need to have it diagnosed with a scanning tool prior to throwing money at it. Member assessments here only give you a direction at best to pursue.
