Default 1.5" spacers with 4.5" backspacing TOO MUCH

Stock 12' rubi, running 1.5 spacers for a wide stance as because I like the look. Will be getting 15" 35's when the stocks wear out. If I get the steel rims with 4.5 backspacing and keep my spacers is that obnoxiously wide or give it that mean look. Figured I could wait and see in 6-8 months but I'm bored home so im'a ask anyway.

I am interested in this as well. I am considering using this set up. Any pics would be great.
I am sure some states will have laws against how far the tire sticks out.

It will look wide. I would be concerned it it would be too wide to be legal and thus get pulled over.

This was 1.5" spacers with 3.5" backspaced 15x10's with corresponding 10.5" wide tires. It sat exactly 84" wide at the widest point and I could still drive it and park it without any issues. The lack of rear bumper exaggerates it but with everything back in place and looking at the jeep on the whole, it looks right.

As I am sure there is such a thing as TOO wide, I just gotta ask what is too wide? Pretty sure that 4.5" backspacing with 1.5" spacers is still skinnier than most full sized rigs with wide tires.

This is my rig with 315/70r16 with 4.5 backspaced wheels. Hard to tell from the pics but the tires stick out past the flares by about 2.5".

You are basically gonna create a wheel with 3 inches of backspacing. You didn't mention the width of the wheels you are considering. That is gonna make a huge difference. An 8 inch wide wheel may not look too wide. But as you can see, a 10 inch wide wheel is gonna look really, really wide.

I run 4.5 backspacing with 1.75 wheel spacer works just fine. I believe the coilover kits reccomend 3.25.
