Default 15" ION Alloy 138 wheels

I did some shopping and found 15" x 8" wheels with 4 1/4 backspace.
I ordered one and it came in.
They clear the brake caliper leaving 1/4 clearance, (pretty tight) nevertheless they'll fit. Now I'm on my way to save about 50 to 80 bucks per tire because they're 15"
When I test fitted the wheel the outer edge sits 1/2" past the fender. So now whatever the tire width is will stick out that much further. Its not as bad as I was thinking it would be.
I'll order the other 3, pop on some tires and post a few pics.

OMG I'm super jealous but curious as hell about seeing these wheels on your Jeep! I just decided last week that I want the same style but in a 15x10. Good to know it clears the caliper with no trimming!

One major advantage of having the wheels stick out beyond the fenders...

I was minding my own business driving maybe 25mph down a road with two lanes in each direction, and a guy in a minivan in the lane next to me wandered across the line, slightly behind me, so somewhat in my blind spot. I felt a small lurch, then the front end kind-of hopped to the right a small amount. Then I noticed that this guy had wandered right into me. I really didn't know for sure if we had hit. We both pulled over, and I had NO DAMAGE, other than some scuffing on the rear tire. Not even a scratch on the wheel. The minivan was covered in black rubber marks as my 37's swirled down the side of it.

So, in my book, it's worth throwing up rain and mud from the protruding tires for the extra bit of protection.

I'll post some pics when I get the wheels on. They're in the garage but I'm waiting till it's near April to put on. I want to wait till the salt washes completely of the roads. Roadsalt doesn't like polished aluminum too well.

OK here's some pics
