15" Rims - Clearance or spacers?
Hi guys! I've been reading posts here for quite some time now, it helped me come to the conclusion of buying my 2012 JKU Sport 6sp! I've been a long time jeep lover, and finally have one that shines
To get started, I ordered a 2.5" RC Spring lift with shocks, as well as Crager soft 8 15x8 with 4.00 BS in order to use my existing 35x12.5 KM2's (which are practically still new).
As many people have experienced, I have slight rubbing when mock mounting the rims in the front. The caliper JUST rubs on the WMS of the rims. I've looked into this and everyone seems to have mixed feelings on what to do. Should I grind them back just a bit? Or use the dreaded "sandwich" 1/4" spacers? Just trying to gauge what people think!
Thanks for your help

Grind the front calipers the little bit that is needed (a few select areas). You will retain all the strength necessary assuming you only grind what is necessary. I have over 8k on my 15" soft 8's with a lot of time spent applying the brake. It's fine.

Under NO circumstances use the 1/4" spacers like that!!!
I run the 15" Cragar Soft 8s and I use 1.25" spacers(technically an adapter) to clear the brake caliper.
If I had known about them then, I would have gone with the MB72...I'm actually considering purchasing a set. I will keep the spacers though as I like the widened stance they give my Jeep.

Thanks for all the quick responses!
I like the look of the aluminums, unfortunately they aren't in the (dollar) or (time) budget. Just bought this jeep Saturday, my pockets are fairly light for the moment. I got the cragars for under 170$ brand new, with center-caps ang lugs.
I think I'll try the "chalk trick" I read about on here. Mark the rim with chalk, mount it and turn. Once I take the rim off, hopefully I'll see what is rubbing and grind accordingly.
Feels dirty taking a grinder to a jeep with 12 miles.
