Default 15inch cragar problems

ordered the 15X10's with 4inch backspace from summit racing. went to have them installed today and the backs fit fine but the front rubbed the caliper. any suggestions on fixing this problem? would the spidertrax give it enough space to clear?

The problem is with your 15" diameter wheels and I don't think wheel spacers will help you out here. I know of one other guy who had this problem and was able to fix it by taking a grinder to his calipers and shaving off a bit of it.

it's on the inner part of the caliper. if you put a cheapo wheel spacer on there it clears the calipers just fine but i'd rather not do that.

My 15 inch steel wheels had a lip around the bolt holes that would just barely rub the front of the caliper when bolted on. I had to grind the front of the caliper just a little.

what did you use to grind it and how much did you have to take off?

from looking at this install page it looks like the spacers would give me the clearance without grinding anything.

should i buy those or the teraflex which are steel?

so the choice is down to the tera flex 1inch or the spidertrax 1.5. which is better.

Thats the reason I went with 16'' wheels, still not much clearance though.

I'm using the Spidertrax 1.5". I have the stock 17" wheels though. No problems except for when I went to get my 315/70r17 BFGs. The tire place told me they could not mount my tires because the spacers were not DOT approved. Gave me a little bit of a hard time with it. I told them to leave the spacers off just for me to get home and I would put them back on for clearence. Problem was, the 17"rims and tires hit the sway bar links without the spacers cause I have the TF 2.5" lift. I just had to sign a waver or something saying that I put them back on, and they let me go with it.

I dont get it. Why go with 15 or 16s? Why not just get 17s to begin with?
