Question Are 16" wheels worth it?

Hi all,

I was just wondering if it's worth upgrading my existing 16" steelies with bigger tires or just save up for some 17" wheels & tires?

I know I could look for some Rubi takeoffs or just the optional X rims, but then I'd be stuck with a set of wheels & tires.

What would you do?

I upgrade from my steelies, but still bought a 16" wheel. Just for the fact that everything is cheaper. $20 per wheels cheaper = $100 savings & $35 per tire cheaper = $175 savings. That's a good bit when it comes down the out the door price!

$1,875 looks a HELL of a lot better than $2,150 in my opinion!

This is true. As you go to a bigger tire, your options are limited to what kind of tire is available. Just do your homework to what tire you want a what size and make sure it fits in your plan.

Max tire size I'd go with would be 35".

So, would it benefit me to stick with 16" wheels? I was thinking of future tire availability also.

In a 315 from 2 top tire brands...I found about $25-35 cheaper per tire in a 16"(Not included discounts) Use this for technical specs...

Availability shouldn't be an issue. I like my 16's and did not have a issue finding the tire I wanted until I went to a 37.

I would go with the 16s. When i got my new tires and wheels I wanted to orginally stay with my stock size of 17, but after talking to multiple people the 16s wouldent take anything away for me and were cheaper.
