Default 17" to 15"

Hi all,

I'm going to be purchasing new wheels and tires in the next few weeks, and I wanted to get everyone's opinion on something. I currently have 17" wheels, but I would like to go smaller for two reasons: the main one being the difference in price and the second one being that I like the how much fatter the tire looks with a smaller wheel.
Does anyone have experience going from a larger wheel to a smaller one? What kind of changes in road behavior should I expect? Any and all opinions welcome, help a newb out!

the biggest reason to go with 15" wheels is the low cost of tires
that and a large sidewall works great offroad
