Default 1st post, but not new to the site

1st I want to say hello to everyone. My 1st post but a long time lurker. Haven't been on here in awhile though.

When I joined, I had just bought a 2007 Unlimited Rubicon. After some research on here I installed a Full Traction 4" long arm system with 35's along with some other mods. I sold it and got into diesel performance. Well now I'm missing my Jeep and the fun I had on the trails. I'm seriously thinking about getting a 2010 Unlimited Rubicon. When/if I buy it, I'll have the lift and tires waiting to get thrown on immediately I've been doing some research and can't make up my mind between Teraflex and Full Traction 4" LA kits. So what's the general consensus between these two manufacturers now a days? I'll be doing the install myself.

both are great kits and both will give you a great ride. depending on what kind of install skills you have, the teraflex kit will require welding - the full-traction kit is bolt on. also, if it matters to you, the full-traction kit is made in the USA.

BTW - welcome back

A couple changes from your previous kit,

We now are running the chromoly heim joints on the upper control arms at the frame ends (front and rear). Torsion rubber bushings on the rear control arm at the frame.

Clevite rubber bushings at the frame end on the lowers, Chromoly heims at the axle. As well as Rubber bushings on the front and rear trackbars. This makes the JK long arm completely maintenance and noise free (still need to check torque on bolts)

The cross member skid plate has changed, its now gained ground clearance and we added wings to the skid plate to connect to the frame.

Our kits are made in the USA, Welcome back to the forums

Wow, thanks for the quick responses! WOL and manufacturers, I was hoping to hear from you guys. I'm not new to swinging a wrench (ASE certified, HP degree from UNOH, work in engineering for an aftermarket HP manufacturing company) but I definitely don't claim to be a know-it-all and love tapping other people's brains.

I really liked my past FT kit, and it was a pretty straight forward install. It did have some noises, mostly after the 1st Michigan winter. I've been reading a lot about the Teraflex kits. Things change so much in these industries, it's hard to keep track of everything. So that's what sparked my question. It's a lot of money to spend and no one around my area is really into lifted JK's to ask questions. It's good to hear about the changes FT has made though, I'll probably end up with that kit again. It seems like a win win decision either way. And I do like the MADE IN THE USA fact.

I don't make choices on if its made in the USA or not. I don't care as long as the product is backed up. With my experiences I say teraflex (because that's what I have of course), but I haven't put it really through extreme trail use but you can look around and see many others who have and their product is an A+ lift in my book. Ive got the 6" LCG Long Arm. Also heard great things about full traction. It's bascially what you want though in the end .

TeraFlex JK Long Arm brackets are welded on for strength just like the factory one's are. TeraFlex has a newer Forged HD front trackbar that is included in the 4" Long Arm kits. Brakelines now have a 90 degree bend to them and the rear control arm brackets have been updated. The control arms are still using a OEM style clevite bushing on the frame end of the lowers. The rest of the ends have a quite flexjoint that is easy to maintain. All parts are covered by a lifetime warranty to the original purchaser.

TeraFlex also offers TeraFlex SpeedBumps/ Flip Drag Link kit/ FOX & ELKA shocks and a Big Brake kit as upgrades to this kit.

Your close to Fenton, MI. We have a vendor in that area that's great to deal with. They have had great reviews with our new joints. Let me know if you want their contact info
