Default 2.5" or 3.0" Teraflex ?????

I left a deposit for wheels, tires, lift and some other goodies. I will not be installing for 1-2 weeks and the supplier stocks both the 2.5 and 3.0 springs. I drive a 2dr Rubicon w/hardtop and will be running 35's. I am running stock bumpers front and rear with stock skids, etc; but I do plan on eventually upgrading all of these which will add significant weight. I want the 2.5" lift, but fear that it is going to eventually settle with all the added weight over time. So, how much settling should I expect? Do you recommend the 2.5" or 3"????? I will likely be trimming my fenders and trimming the rubi rock rails. I'm looking for advice from people that are or have run either of these set ups, thanks in advance.

the TF coils run tall and the 2.5" coils will yield closer to 3"+ even after settling. if you wish to stay at about 3" even after installing heavy mods, i would go with 3" coils which should put you closer to 4" right off the bat and maybe closer to 3" after your mods.

Thanks for the reply. That's kinda what I was thinking. The only reason for wanting to go 2.5" now is that I would rather spend money on gears, etc. than driveline mods. Eventually I don't mind changing drivelines, I am pretty sure the stock driveline will be fine for a few months with a 3". I will in the very near future be purchasing the full flex arm or long arm upgrade kit as well. This also steers me towards the 3".

On a 2 door:

You can expect to see 3.5-3.75"(front) and 2.5-2.75"(rear) with the Teraflex 2.5" coil lift.

With the TF 3" coil lift, you can expect to see 4.5-4.75"(front) 3.5-3.75"(rear).

You can expect to see .5-1" of sag with aftermarket bumpers/winch/tire carrier.

even with the 2.5" kit, you will damage your front drive shaft if you don't replace it. the problem is caused by the amount of droop you'll have and the new extended shocks will give you enough to cause your shaft to swipe over and hit the tranny causing the spline shaft boot to tear. if you have a 2-door, you will also end up needing to replace your rear shaft as well sooner or later as the steep angles will cause the cv joints to eventually fail.

Thanks for the reply. It sounds like you've been running the 2.5", are you happy with it? Based on those numbers, I would be fine running the 2.5", especially with the fender chop.

Not yet(just a lot of reading), I'm ordering the TF 2.5 coil w/ shocks next week. I plan on running that with rubi tires til I splurge on some 35's. I plan on eventually running the TF 3".

My plan is to put on the 2.5 lift and slowly upgrade my driveline by getting a TF forged HD front trackbar(and probably a rear trackbar..), front adjustable LCA's, rear adj UCA's, and rear driveshaft.. Plus all the little components like bumpstops, ext brakelines, etc when I throw in the new coils.

My JK is a DD so I want to make sure when I lift it, I do it the right way and not skimp on components. That's my plan, well today anyways
