Default 2.5" AEV setup question

Quick question from a new guy here. I purchased a new Sahara last week and had the dealer install the 2.5 AEV lift. I brought it back due to a bit of excessive wandering. They double checked everything and put it back on the lift. Of course they said nothing was wrong, as expected. I asked them where the caster was at and they said 3.2. I downloaded the instructions and looked at the position of the upper control arm brackets in the geo location brackets and they are in the top hole. I took a measurement as directed and I am at 6 3/4" from the spring perch to the frame. According to the instructions, I should be using the middle hole. Where are others set up at? I will be swapping bumpers to an LOD mid bumper at some point, so maybe that will drop it a bit.

I should mention that I am running 35" Duratracs. I dropped the air pressure down as some have suggested and that did not help.

Thanks in advance

Check your toe. Going to 35's could make a difference.

i have the same lift and brackets. my arms were installed in the top hole. it is my first jeep, so i have nothing to compare it to, but it did feel like it wandered a bit. i've since added a relatively lightweight aftermarket front bumper and an average weight rear bumper and tire carrier. i don't know if it cause the suspension to settle down a bit or if i am just getting used to the way it drives, but it feels like the wandering is gone.

Upper hole according to the AEV directions for the their 2.5 lift. I'd check your toe as well.

Hopefully they torqued the control arms when it was on the ground and not on the lift, that can cause issues too. I have the same lift and brackets and no wandering issues.

I drove mine for about 8 months before putting on my AEV 2.5 lift, and after the install, it drove better than stock with no wandering. I am still on stock wheels, but will have 35's in about a month. Mine is installed at the top hole on the geo relocation brackets.

I did verify that they torqued everything when the truck was back on the ground and the tech said absolutely. They rechecked the toe and he said correct, but did not print out the sheet when on the alignment rack. I'm heading out on a fishing trip tomorrow afternoon, but I think I will move to the middle hole on Sunday night when I get back. If moving to the middle hole does not help, I will bring it back and have them print the specs out while on the rack Monday.

Dstock,

If you look on page 3, line #5, it says that if the measurement is between 6 1/2 and 8", use the middle hole. Mine is actually 6 3/4. I called AEV and they said that sometimes thier 2.5" lifts will net more than 2.5", in which case, the middle hole should be used. Of course mine is kind of in that gray area. I suspect that once the springs settle in a bit and I add a bumper, it will bring that measurement back down. Easy enough to try it in the middle hole though.

Appreciate the input.
