2.5" BB with 37's
Has anyone ran this setup just for the street. I would like to go ahead and get 37's now and wait out and see what comes out within the next 4-6 months as far as suspension systems go (or maybe I wont need a larger lift if the poison spyder customs fenders gain clearance). Obviously these tires would rub when wheeling, but I was wondering if they would fit on the street for a few months. Ive seen 35's being run on BB and figure its only another inch that you would need to clear. Im sure some trimming would be needed but im not worried about a little trimming. See my finances will allow for a BB, 37's, and 5.13's.....or a BB, 35's and a decent 3 inch kit (I have 4.10 gears now). So there is where Im at......

Saw this on the Burnsville Off Road site and emailed Dan.......It only has the 2.5 BB and 37X13.50R20 running 5 inches of backspacing.......he said it fit fine for the street. Could use the 3//4 inch spacer in the front to fix the rake in my opinion. Still dont know whether this is the route im gonna take, but I wanted to show people the option......
Take a close look at the picture you posted. There is no way the front tire won't rip the front air dam off the truck and maybe even hit the bumper. I think you're trying to put a square peg in a round hole.
Sometimes is better to step back and wait for the right solution or go with what's available until you can switch out the parts to something you like better. If you really feel the need to run 37's just buy the right size lift kit. Also, with 37's you will need to change the gears. I'm running a 6-speed with 4:10s with my tires and it's a noticeable difference on the road. If I were to run 37's, it would need a set of gears.
I think Teraflex says that 35's are the max with the BB kit. I have 315/70-17 which is really 34.5" and I had trouble with rubbing and had to get out some tin snips to cut the plastic air dam to allow the tires fit. The tires really fill up the wheel well nicely.
You might even have some safety issues. What if you had to jam on the brakes in an emergency and at the same time make some steering corrections to miss an object? With the weight transfer of these trucks acting like Big Mama sitting on the hood, adding very heavy wheels/tires, and then trying to steer with the tires grabbing body work (bumpers and body seams), you might be asking for trouble. Can you say tire shredding?
Good luck. I sincerely hope you don't talk yourself into this set up.
