Default 2.5" BB or 4" Lift

I've already ordered the 2.5" BB with the 2.2 Shocks. It is still in the box and I haven't decided if I truly want it or the 4". Between the two (both being from Rough Country) money is not a real factor for me. I just got some Dunlop 35x12.5r17's and I am afraid that when I go off-roading I'm going to rip off one of my fenders or rub a nice groove somewhere expensive. I like the stock fenders, so its basically an option of the lift. I have never removed the sway bars when I go off roading and probably never will. So my question is:

Will my 35's clear on my 2.5" BB while hitting the trails?

The 2.5" will be enough lift, especially if you do not plan on disconnecting the sway bar. Do you have a 2 door or 4 door?

I have the 2 door. and I couldn't resist... I just had to test my new tires, so i took it on a really light scale up a hill on a trail. MAJOR Fender Bumping even at the slightest "speedbump" style pothole, at slow speeds. It was HORRIBLE!

I just don't want to regret not getting a 4" lift, but I don't want to spend more money than i need to if I'm never going to use it and its just going to jack my center of gravity even further up...

Since you already have a BB, I would install it and see if you have any rubbing problems off-road. If you do, get a 1" body lift (cheap and easy to install). A BB and a BL is a good combo to keep the COG low. Unless you absolutely need the clearance, I think having a lower center of gravity is always a plus. Less butt-clenching moments on the trail.

I put a spacer lift on my Toyota and always wished I did the suspension lift so it was easy for me when I got the Jeep.

I have a 4" superlift on my 4-door. I wheel semi aggressively and stuff my 35's all the time. I almost wish I would have went MORE than 4" sometimes.

I bought 2" BB, now 2.5" Skyjackers spring lift and wish I would have went 3" - 4" right from the start and saved all the work. And a complete kit with control arms/track bars.

GO FOR THE 4" KIT!

But realize that you'll want 37's shortly thereafter! It's a sickness really.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I'm going to think on it, and decide in a day or two. But I am leaning towards the 4" after reading your posts...

dude if you plan on serious offroading get the 4''. i got an ome lift with 33's and it was a pain in the ass this weekend at the rubicon. with 33's and sway bars discon. i rubed the fender, and broke my abs wires(i think that what they are) small lifts work great for mild offroading and so you can put on some bigger tires, but now im saving for a 4.5 LA kit so i can hit the harder trails. if money aint a factor get the 4'' IMO
