2.5 lift 37s rubbing question
I know there is a million post on this but is there anyone who has cut or bent the pinch seam all the way around the rear wheel well I know I will need some extended bump stops but if this is possible I would like to make more room and use less bump extensions thanks

37's typically need 4" lift. Depending on what you're doing with your rig, you may need to increase clearance.

A lot of ppl cut the pinch seam. Sawzaw or cutting wheel will do the trick!

I haven't followed any threads on trimming all the way around but you might find some useful info here. Or shoot a PM to planman if you don't find the answer you are looking for.

Lots of people do it. When you buy PSC flares, they serve as a guide line for your cut. You can cut all the way around the well to stuff a set of 40" tires.
And fwiw, I have 37's with 2.5" bumpstop in the rear. My tires dont make contact with the tub at all. I'm gonna go with 2" instead when I get the time. Ive done copious trimming of the front and rear pinch seams though. |

I wheel it pretty hard and I know I can fix it with bumpstops just tring to get that extra inch of flex lol |

I just moved up to 37s from 35s with a 2.5" lift. I had already done my pinch seems for 35s but I had to cut more with the 37s and trim part of the plastic liner.

Nah, the question isn't how much lift, it's which sawzall blade ;)
I actually tried to get solid responses for running 35's, no lift and smittybilt fenders. People still insisted on the lift. :( |
The 2.5 lift, copious trimming and 37" Krawlers is the direction I want to go. Working in a body shop, trimming the seam all the way to the tub and welding the gap doesn't scare me.
Need to sell my other house so I can get this project started :sad2: |
