2.5" lift -- advice needed
Thanks for all the advice everybody! I've read that the 2.5" lift wit beefier tires is the way to go for light off roading. Now, my mind is starting to wander... since I'm getting such a good deal on this lift, would it work or be dangerous to put in spacers while I'm at it to get an inch or two more clearance? Or am I just getting greedy at that point?
Well if your going to put on 35s you will need spacers or rims with less backspacing. What components exactly are you getting with the kit?

The CL ad doesn't list components, but here's a link to it. Looks like coils, shocks and a few components that I'm too ignorant as of this writing to name... I expect that won't last long.
I'm running 33x12.5s right now and get some rubbing when i cut hard.

Edit: Just looked at the link. You should be able to install that in a day. Not a lot of parts.

I guess I was just asking if, in your opinion, it would be feasible to add lift spacers only to get some extra clearance... if they would work without over-extending the shocks, if they would work at all, or if it's just an overall bad idea.
If it's extra clearance you're going for, you don't need it as I said. If you just want more height, then that's your decision. There are many other components your money would be better spent on. Like correcting caster.
If you are starting at 2.5", and adding another 2", it's more than just the shocks you have to think about. Go to any lift mfg's website and find a 4-5" lift, then look at all of the components that are included. Do you have them? Will the components from your 2.5" work for a 4.5" lift? Caster correction? Brakelines? Axle centering, both front and rear? Roll center correction? Steering correction? (flip/hi-steer). Bump stops? What are your plans for when your front driveshaft spits out all of the grease and seizes?
If you want to add spacers, add spacers. Just get an understanding of the problems you are setting yourself up for...
