Default 2.5 lift- Do i need a new driveshaft?

Looking into my first lift on my new 2012 JKUR.
Planning on purchasing the teraflex 2.5" or 3" kit with bilstein shocks. The thread about newbie questions said on 2012 and up I will require a new front DS. Is this true?
If not, for the sake of discussion, does the 2.5" kit include all the necessary equipment?

You shouldn't. But you will need the exhaust spacer Teraflex 2610000 - Teraflex Exhaust Spacer Kit for 12-13 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK with 3.6L - Quadratec

Do you need one to get the lift installed? Not necessarily. Will you eventually need to replace the stock on when it fails because of the lift? Yes. You can use the exhaust spacers but eventually your stock drive shaft is going to fail and you'll replace it anyways. I changed drive shafts when I had the lift installed. Other than that the teraflex kits are probably the most complete kits you will find. You shouldn't have to add anything to it.

I've had a OME lift (med/light springs and shocks) for about 40,000 miles on my stock drive-shafts and its a daily driver. I now have 96,000 mile on Her and the shafts are still looking good. I have "flexed" quite a bit off road but most of my off road riding is back roads, trails and mild river crossings. I think for at least initially you'll be ok.

That's great but you don't have a 2012

Interesting...You actually answered a question I've been wondering about, and that is whether or not to replace the drive shafts when i get my lift. Mind if I ask what drive shafts you purchased and how you decided on the brand you chose?

Coast 1310.. It came very well recommended. Works for lifts up to 6" I believe. JE reel and Tom woods are also very popular brands. It came down to price and availability for me.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Would love it if more people with the exact kit would chime in, maybe TF themselves? As it is now, I'll include a front DS in my build plans.
