Default 2.5" lift question

I have a set (front and rear) of Teraflex 2.5" coil springs that I acquired as part of a package deal. Is it possible and/or advisable to replace my factory coil springs with these 2.5" coil springs with no other modifications? My only driving is on paved roads and on occasion the beach.

Up to you.

Both axles will be offset to one side. (probably not an issue if you can deal with the visual)
Pinion will be tilted up, lowering caster and causing flightier steering. (some are ok with this, some aren't)
Shocks will have limited downtravel. (not an issue from your stated usage.)
Links will be short. (may be an issue on a lift at a shop if the swaybar flips)
Brakelines will be too short. (easy to address with brackets or unhooking/bending the lines)
Both driveshafts will be running at steeper angles. (probably not an issue, just watch the boots)

I see what you mean. Is this going to be the same issue(s) with a coil spacer lift (2") also?

Spacers vs coils doesn't matter, just height. There is no magic number saying at this height you 'will' have issues, but at that height you 'won't'. The common sense answer is simply that the higher you go, the more likely you are to run into issues that need to be addressed.

I can see why changing the suspension geometry would cause a domino effect. I think my best bet (for me and my type of driving) would be a simple leveling kit and maybe some 285 tires. Thanks for the advise, much appreciated!

If you already have the springs why not just put them in and see how you like the ride?

If you don't like the ride but really like how it looks then you can add a few things such as front lower control arms and track bars.

If you don't like the ride and don't really like how it looks then you can always take the springs back out.

If you like the ride with the springs and no add on's then you are good to go.

Humm, this is going to involve a bit more education on my part. I do like to appearance of a JK with a moderate lift but I really don't want to screw anything up nor do I want to void any remaining factory warranty. This gives me food for thought.

Flat fenders will give you the look of about a 3"-4" lift and you will not have to mess with the suspension at all. It is a no brainer for someone that is running on the road. Better looks over the factory, room for 35" tires with proper wheel bs, maintains the factory ride, and keeps the entry/exit height low.

Putting a lift on a jeep just for the sake of lifting is kinda silly.

A lot of guys here that are daily drivers we have put in the AEV front correction brackets that cost $100.00 and can be accomplished on the ground one side at a time in a driveway in a few hours. It has three settings 2.5, 3.5 and 4.5 for changing the Castor on your frontend.

Why not just buy the remaining items from the full 2.5" Teraflex kit including some shock extensions ? I've been running this kit on my daily driver for 5+ years and it rides and looks great !!!
