2.5" OME requirements

Am I going to need any other mods to run a 2.5" OME lift on my 2008 JK 2 door? Will the swaybar disconnects still fit? Anything I positively need to buy with this??

Search for any of the dozens of OME threads and you'll find a bunch of info.

Do you 'need' anything else? No.
Will you 'want' anything else? Yes... (But, it depends on you, and what handling and/or visual characteristics you're willing to live with)

Will the swaybar disconnects still fit?
Adjustable disconnects? Just extend them.
Rubi auto-disco's? Get longer rear links, move the stock rears to the front.

Here is a cut/paste from another recent ome thread.

Longer rear sway bar links
They're cheap. Move the stock rears to the front.

One set of front bumpstops.
Cheap, and when you do decide to take it offroad more, you won't have to pull the front end apart a second time to install them.

One set of front Adjustable Control Arms.
It will be flighty, and since you're on the road 99% of the time, my guess is you probably won't be happy with the handling. Drive it with stock CA's to see how you like it, but budget a set of adj arms in when you can.

Adjustable Track Bars
I got these with my ome hd kit. If I were doing the install over again, I would get the control arms long before I got these. (unless you are really anal about having your axles perfectly centered...) Again, budget these in somewhere down the road, but not needed now. I have not used a relocation bracket, but you might look into them instead of adj's?

Extended Brake lines and/or relocation brackets
On the road, you won't need these. For the 1% of your time that you are offroad, well - I have extended lines, and I still stretched a line and ripped a bracket off the frame. You can make a relo bracket for $5 with hardware store parts, my suggestion is to go ahead and do this just for peace of mind.
And here is a link to a great install write-up:

Just make sure you ask the right questions so you 'know' what you're getting
-and what you're not getting
-and why you might or might not want something you are not getting
-and how not having certain components may affect you...

(for instance, when I ordered my ome lift, I wish I was told about adding front bumpstops. Instead, I found out on the trail when my tire tried to rip the fender off. Cheap items that would have been simple to throw in during the install, instead of having to take apart the front end a second time to put them in...)

You may want to browse any of the threads from people with lifts and short (stock) swaybar links that have bent the links and twisted the swaybar around backwards - because the links are too short for the lift... :D

O.K. I have the same lift. I "positively" don't have any issues.

Not saying it 'will' happen, just that people are posting that it 'does' happen...

I'm just afraid that after installing the lift I'll need something else. I would really like to budget for everything associated with the lift and buy it all at once. I'm mechanically inclined enough that I will be able to do the install, but I would have no idea how to adjust the control arms, nor do I really understand what they do.

That's why I don't know if I'll need new ones or not. I think a crash course in suspension systems may be in order.

Sorry, I got a chuckle out of that. You will 'always' need something else. Your JK will be a never-ending upgrade project...
Honestly, if money is an issue, get the basic kit like you planned, and add components as you need them. The only one I would suggest you add with the lift is a set of front extended bumpstops because they are cheap, and they go inside the front coils, so it saves you having to take it all apart again to install them. The rest can be added easily enough as needed.

The link for the OME install write-up is a few posts up. Great step-by-step info, with pics.

Here is the Do-it-yourself alignment write-up: More great info.
http://project-jk.com/jeep-jk-write-...-end-alignment

-This will show how to set the adjustable control arms to add Caster. (to get rid of the flighty/darting/bumpsteer/etc that may be caused by the lift)
-How to center your axles with an adjustable trackbar. (since they will be off-center after the lift...)
-How to re-center the steering wheel (since it will 'probably' be off-center after the lift)
-How to adjust the Toe-In (if needed)

This is a pic from the alignment write-up. Don't know who gets credit for it, but a big
