2011 4 door wrangler. Looking to install a 2.5" lift and 33s mainly for looks. The rough country lift includes springs and shocks for around $340. The teraflex includes springs and shocks but costs morecthan twice as much at over $700.

Is one any better than the other? With either lift will I really need bump stop extensions or whatever? And will a track bar be necessary for the front?

 

I have the 2.5" Rough Country lift with 33's and I'm very happy with it. I'm sure Teraflex is good too, but for the money I think the Rough Country works just fine.

 

I disagree I had a 2.5" rough country and after everything settled I was sitting as high as a stock rubicon.

 

I have the 2.5 teraflex! First pic is with 33's second pic is 37's same set up and lift no issues!

 

I wouldn't buy either kit with shocks.

I'd get the TF kit w/o shocks and then get Bilstien, OME or rancho 9000s shocks.

I got the Teraflex 2.5" coil lift with shock extenders. Why spend money on shocks when the ones you have are perfectly fine? Especially if your lift is mostly for looks. When my shocks are worn I'll ditch the extenders and spring for some high quality shocks.

 

Look where they are made before you decide. Go American. Keep our manufacturing jobs here by not sending your money to China.

 

I have a 2.5" TF coil w/shocks and I love it. It is the perfect dd lift IMO

 

I have pondered over this question for awhile, Rough Country or Terra Flex. After a reliable referral from a friend I trust very well I gave the Rough Country 2.5 inch lift with shocks a chance. I installed the kit myself in about 4 hours. For the price you just can't beat the Rough Country kit. My 2011 rides even better now than it did stock and you sure can't beat the price. As a side note if you do the install save yourself some time and aggravation by renting a set of spring compressors from Pep Boys or Auto Zone. I did the install without them but it was a real tight fit and I would not try it again without the compressors.
