Default 2.5 Tera Flex Rear end alignment problems??

Searched but could not find anything....

I am considering getting the 2.5 TF BB. I have read on other boards that there is a possibility of the rear end having alignment problems and possibly needing a track bar.

has anyone had such a problem? Where do you get the adjustable track bars for the rear if you need it?

I have read WOL's write up and it seems simple to install. I am trying to figure out how the rear end can move out of alignment if at all.

I plan on keeping my 32" BFG on it, but would like a little more ground clearance so that is why I am looking at the lift.

I am a NOOb at lift kits so any help is appreciated.

Thanks

The track bar is what stabilizes the axles on the Jeeps and holds them in place side to side. When you lift the Jeep it moves the axle farther from the chassis and causes the axle to shift to the side of the vehicle.

The adjustable track bar allows you to adjust the length of it to perfectly center the axles under the Jeep.

With the TF 2.5" lift your axles will shift slightly to one side, but many people have run these kits without adjustable track bars and have had no problems at all.

If you want adjustable track bars you can get them at many places, but I highly recommend David at Northridge 4X4, his customer service kicks ass!

You will have front and rear axle centering issues. The axle will shift towards the left in the front and the right in the rear (if your looking at the back of the Jeep). An easy fix for this is a pair of adj t-bars from Full Traction. They can be purchased at Northridge4x4.com (thats where I bought mine). Ive looked at WOL's writeup and its dead on the money. Follow it and you should be fine.

What these guys said. However, the shift you will experience is not very much, really no big deal and I wouldn't even worry about it. I ran this setup without adjustable track bars and without any problems.

How much movement would you say you will get? Will it eat up tires faster?

I am still 99% for getting the lift.

It is a shame it did not come from the factory with the lift.

You will see about an 1/8"~1/4" shift. Really, it isn't even noticable unless you are really looking for it. As far as your tires go, both there will not be any additional wear from this shift.

x2.
I haven't gotten a ruler out to measure, but visually I can't even see the shift with this small of lift.

x3 on this. The shift isnt that noticeable. We have about 8000 miles on this lift and no problems. The tires are also wearing fine.

Thanks for all the replies. I hope to order the kit by Wednesday and I will post some pics of the install and the finished product. I just need to do some cleaning in the garage so I have a place to work.

I also need to finish the wife's list of honey do's before I can work on it.

I have the lift and really no issues without adj trac bars. The wheel does want to pull a bit to the right and I've had it aligned twice and they can't fix it.... figured it's just something I have to deal with with a 2.5" lift, 33x12.5 tires and 2" spacers.

How do you measure with the adj track bars to line everything up? I may look into this if it'll fix my steering issue.

and I too can vouch for northridge4x4.... great service!
