2" BB and 305/70-17?
I've had a 4 dr rubicon in light greystone on order for 1 1/2 months now and I'm starting to plan for its first mods since I seem to have a problem ever leaving one of my vehicles stock.
If it was entirely up to me I'd swap out the stock suspension for a 3" lift and 35's the moment I got it off the lot. However, my wife already thinks it is high enough stock, so I'm thinking a comprimise is in order. I plan to do some pretty serious off roading and I think the minimum tire size for looks and function would be 34".
Would a 2" BB clear a 305/70-17 tire for serious wheeling? According to my calculations these tires would measure 33.8" and it seems to me that if a 3" lift would be enough clearance for 35's a 2" lift would be adequate for 34's. Also, what companies besides goodyear make tires in this size in a mud terrain?
Thanks,
Duffman

It might be a bit tight and you will probably have to trim the corner of the rocker panel that sticks out towards the tire tread but otherwise, yeah, that should work out just fine.
As far as who else makes a 34" tire goes, I know that Interco Super Swamper makes their TrXus M/T's in that size too.
BTW, welcome to JK-Forum!

I have no problem with trimming the rocker panel, that was one of the first things I noticed when checking out the jeeps and their tire clearance.
Thanks for the quick reply wayoflife, and by the way, great job with the site!

I'll let you know as soon as my wheels get here. I'll be running Maxxis Bighorns in a 305/70/17 on 17x9" wheels. Already have my BB here.
Are you planning on changing wheels? If not, you may need spacers. The stock ones might have too much backspacing.

Looking to keep costs down at first, so I will be going with the stock wheels and spacers.
