Default 2" BB Warning.

Just a warning for those in the BB Club.
I installed a 2" Full Traction BB but kept my stock Sahara shocks because I liked the ride. I added Teraflex shock extensions.
What they don't tell you is that you need to extend your sway bar links. I ordered the Teraflex disconnects while I was in Miami because I went airborne over a speed bump and it locked my sway bar behind the axle. Well they didn't arrive in time before I had to come back to NC.( UPS's fault) So I drove all the way from FLA to NC towing a trailer with my sway bars disconnected and tied up. Not a very pleasant experience.

Front locked up. Not a big speedbump - just hit it too fast. Wasn't paying attention and it was dark.

Great, this is the kit i was going to be installing after winter break. First off its good your alright. How big of a problem is not having the extended sway links? (obviously it was a problem for you but wondering if i would be good for a month or two till i got some). Also if it is a problem now i dont know if i should spend the money on new sway links or just sell this BB and put the money towards a more compleate kit

Nice to here you made it. Sorry that UPS didn't get those to you in time.

Thanks for the warning. I personally have never had an issue and I have hit some things that were a bit bigger then a speed bump and never had an issue, but I guess that doesn't mean that there never would be one.

I would order the teraflex quick disconnects to go w/ your bb. I think they are about a $100.00 and you can get the ones that fit 0-3" lift. I have them w/ RC BB, works great. Joe

I've seen a few other threads that people have posted the same thing happening. The last one I read was about a guy who jumped a curb at the urging of his friends. I think they fixed it by jacking the jeep up, putting it on stands and then lowering the axle until the links flipped back the right way.
