Default 2 grand for wheels and tires

Well, its taken me 6 months to accumulate the funds for wheels and tires for my '12 JK, sold everything I could find on Ebay. I have decided on Mickey Thompson Classic lll black 17x9. I would like to add a Teraflex leveling kit and then buy either BFG KO or General ATS tires. My question deals with tire size. What size will fill the wheel well and look the best, 285 70R-17 0r 33x12.50-17? I value your input, this is subjective but I want to get it right the 1st time. At present, most of my time is spent on pavement but we will be driving to Alaska in April.

If it's on the paved stuff find the 33s you like the most and call it a day. Not everyone needs 35s, especially if mods are on a tight budget.

Alaska = snow and ice. If your living up there I'd go skinny tires with the severe winter rating ( mountain snow flake). Forget about MT aggressive looks. You want rubber that wont get hard when its cold with lots of sipes. When I want to turn and stop, I want to turn and stop. BFG AT have that rating. Just an opinion.

Just moved to fairbanks about a two weeks ago I've got 315 duratracs which seem to work very well. Look aggressive enough for me.

If its mostly road I suggest te 33" anything above 33" will have a sound and it will get annoying

I got 33" and like the guys say u will wish to go for 35" but then the comfort brings the smile back on my face ... 35" is good on the looks

It's basically what yoy want...lots of people who get 33's - change to 35" fast...
I personally went to 35"s with a 2 1/2 lift...Perfect stance...Also for the road very
little if any trails...
