2" and Less Lifts....
does anyone know about the various 2" or less lifts? I have a fixed height limitation with my underground parking and I also don't want to have to deal with new driveshafts and adjustable track bars. I have been following these forums since I got my 07 2dr X and respect the knowledge of those here that have 4x4'd for years. I really like the idea of a spring lift, but the OME is approx 3.25 or so inches on the 2dr, from what I have read in the forums. That leaves the Rusty's 2" spring lift, or a simple "budget boost", my favorite atm is the Rough Country 1.75", simply because it is lower. Do any of you know of a really great less than 2", in actual use on a 2dr, lift? I'd really appreciate any help you can give me. I have 245/75/16 Pirelli Scorpion AT tires on the stock 16" X rims. I have added Body Armor Front and rear bumpers, with tire carrier, removed the rear seat and added a Tuffy security trunk. At the moment, it sits lower in the back than the front, due to the weight of the Tuffy and my camping gear...Thanks a bunch!
I've seen .75", 1", and 1.75" coil spacers out there. If you check out the forum sponsers, don't just look under "lifts" look under "coil spacers" as well. From what I understand from talking to the others on the forum, if you were go with something fairly low, like the 1" spring spacers, you wouldn't need to do anything at all other than install the spacers.
I'm runing a 2" superlift spacer kit. I just put it on and everything works fine. and I also get great articulation. (I didn't use the bumpstops) if you dont disconect your swaybar you wont rub, If you do disconect then you will rub in the front while your stuffed and turning. but those plastic fenders work great and I have yet to rip mine off (and I've tried)
I just installed my "LD" OME on my stock Sahara 2,8 crd auto 4dr. I got the springs 616 front and 617 rear. The lift was exactly 2" in front and 2,25" in the rear, as it should be - directly after installing, maybe it will come down a bit.
Just take the right springs !!
I'm putting on the 3/4" spring spacers because It won't be throwing money away. These 2+" buget lifts seem nice but, they aren't much cheaper than a full 3-4" lift kit. I want bigger lift when it comes time for the next set of tires(or sooner) and the kit of 4 spacers from daystar are only $43.69. And even after the lift they can be used to give it a little help front or back depending on where and how much extra weight the jeep is carring.
I went a different route...I installed an On-Board Air System.
My sidewalls are over 8" tall, so, I can simply lower my psi to sneak into parking garages, and then air back up on the way out.
Really opened up all sorts of options.
