If you just get a spacer lift what is nice about the tera kit over others is the guide on the rear spacers. This will help retain the rear spring which is something you will appreciate in the long run.

It depends on if it is an auto or manual. The autos tend to tear the boot more than the manuals do.

Mmm, not at those lift heights. I am pretty certain he will rip it regardless. Let us know how he makes out.

So they are not equal in parts you get for the money. Somewhat misleading to say they are the same other then price.

Are the bump-stops, extension brackets and brake line drop all necessary with the spring kit? I guess that was my question. I plan on upgrading to Bilstien HD shocks in the near future. I may do a winch down the road. Thanks for the input.

All the AEV lifts but the BB come with shocks tuned to their springs and anyhting else you NEED. Anytime you lift, those things will become needed. I wouldn't install their springs with their shocks. The new 2.5" lift has everything you need for about 900. It's more designed to handle extra weight from aftermarket bumpers, winch and such.

I'm debating the same thing right now, but I don't plan on going taller than a 34" tire. I like the AEV 2" for it's design but i wonder if the Teraflex coil kit would be better. I had a 2" coil in my TJ and never had an issue.

Any thoughts on the matter are much appreciated.

Sure would be nice if they sold the AEV 2" kit with springs instead of spacers. Or just all the kit parts separate. I'm gettin close to buying the AEV kit. Then tausing the spacers and adding shocks and springs down the road. I would love the new New AEV 2.5 lift with all the good stuff but $900 is out of my range and probably more than I need with 33's.

I think I have come to a conclusion. Thanks for all your help everyone.

I only need to clear 34's max so I agree spending $900 + on 2.5 inches of lift is crazy. Most of my wheeling is trails and mud etc. not a lot of rock crawling to super flex the suspension. unless someone has a legitimate reason for springs over spacers, I think I'm going to go with the AEV.

However any new info is much appreciated maybe you can sway me back the otherway. nothing I'm going to do tomorrow.

Directly from the Teraflex website on their Leveling Kit:

A simple but effective leveling kit that adds height enough to use up to 305/65 R18 or 305/70 R17

...which is a 34" tire.
