I’ve had this Jeep for a while and never had any issues with it shifting. I just drove 80 miles home from work and hit a bump close to the house and suddenly transmission won’t shift out of second gear. It threw a check engine light on so I disconnected the battery and tried to see if that would fix it. It did not. Any help would be appreciated.

 

Sounds like it may be in limp mode, assuming it's an automatic.
