2011 4dr with 33's
Just installed 33x12.5x15 Goodyear duratracs on my 2011. I love the look it's just what I want. My problem is that now when I'm driving highway I rarely get into top gear (unless in going downhill). The question I have is will the aev procal module fix this?
I know it will fix my speedo and in it's description is says that it will fix minor gearing changes from bigger tires. but has anyone had this problem and what was the fix, Aside from completely re-gearing.
Thanks for the help.

It didn't say but I'm guessing that you have an automatic? If you have an auto, the Procal will only help with the shift points if I understand it right and will give you no power boost as it is only an adjusting module if you will and not a tuner. Like myself who also has a 2011, Superchips is not supporting the 2011's as of right now so you and I are kind of stuck. Last week I installed an AEV 3.5" Premium lift, 35x18 Nitto Trail Grapplers and 18" XD wheels and I am also experiencing the loss in power. Granted my loss is probably greater than yours since you only went to 33's and I went to 35's but the gearing of the auto tranny is a lot higher than the 6 speed manual that I have. I am going to be going to 4.88's and I have heard that with 33's, 4.56 gears are perfect and gives you back your power. I would say either a re-gear or turn OD off and wait for a Superchips tune and see if that fixes the problem.
Yea it's an auto. I'm really not worried about the power loss as of now I just can't stand the constant down shifting that it does on the highway at 70 to 75mph. I've been turning O/D off when I'm in hilly areas which helps but even in flat or slightly inclined highway areas it shifts down to a lower gear when O/D is on and its killing my gas mileage. Basically I was wondering if the procal will help with the down shifting.... but the more I read it doesn't look like it. I may just hold out until some of the performance tuners have 2011 support.
I'll work on that profile. Im browsing on my phone so it can be kinda slow. And thanks for the welcome. This is my 1st JK but I've been driving an 84 CJ7 for about 7 years (my 1st car).

I have 315's and had the same gear issue. the procal madule did not add power but helped with speadometer, and gear transfers. Before the module id redline all the time..Suked big time! i have yet to regear but need to do so

If you have 3:21 gears then you will rarely hit OD and if you do achieve that, it will most likely kick back down into 3rd or back and forth all the time. I had the same set up on my 07 but it was a stick with 33's and 3:21 gears and i hardly ever got it to 6th gear. my .02

A tuner will not help other to improve your shift points. You are running at 1900 rpms, if you have 4:10's. You need to be in the 2200-2300 RPM range for the engine to operate in its power curve.
I have just been down this road and monday my new 4:88 gears go in along with lockers & axles $$$$
Hemis & Superchargers will not change the operating RPM range, Yes you will avoid the down shifting but the engines will still not be operating at their optimum power range while cruising along at 70mph.
You could avoid a regear IF there was a way to change the final drive ratio of you your transmissions OD.. I don't know of one that currently exists.
Messing with Jeeps is like playing dominos, when you change one thing something else will fall over and need to be chnaged!
