Default 2011 jku center console

I have a 2011 JKU Sport. Now the sports did NOT come with the usb port or the ac outlet like the other models. I was wondering if it was possible to change that. I want to install the tuffy security center console and had the thought "Is it possible to add the usb port and ac power outlet?" Does anyone have any knowledge on this?

Thanks,
Daniel

Adding a second outlet would be very easy, simple as picking one up at an autoparts store and tapping into an existing, or running new wires if you wanted to. Adding a usb port could be a little bit trickier, first you have to find a port that wouldn't look awful flush mounted, second is the wiring. USB is 5v, so you'd need to put enough resistance on a 12v line to get to 5v (4.8-5.2v is acceptable). Miss and you could over-volt an expensive phone, or anything you plugged in.

You could add 2 Outlets, and pick up a cheap little single DC outlet to USB port. Seen them in autoparts stores for $10-$15.

Are you talking about what I'm talking about? The ac outlets where I can plug in a 2 or 3 prong plug? I'm wanting to directly plug in my laptop with out a converter. The new center console has everything for mounting. Still a little confused

There are some write ups on installing inverters. That's what you're looking for to get the AC power. Some have USB as well. This won't intgrate with the stereo though, just allow charging.
