Default 2012 automatic using auto shifter.

who has automatic 5 speed and uses the shifter all day.

i have 35s and 3.21 its the only way to get my rig moving on the road. so i start in first at lights and rev to about 3 grand then shift.

anyone using the shifter always, i want to know if this will cause extra wear or strain. and is it ok?

Ran my 3.21s for a couple months with 35s. I just let the auto do its thing.

I'm not a big fan of using the slap stick in autos a great deal. I had 2 separate BMWs transmissions prematurely wear due to overusing the slap stick. However I was doing a lot of high RPM downshifting going into corners and such.

It's probably mostly OK as the NAG 1 is a pretty stout trans, but I just don't think they were designed to be used that way constantly.

Your basically neutral slamming it every time you start up! Ouch I would stop what your doing asap ! If you really can't stand how sluggish it is off the line regear it ! It will save you form have to replace your trans. Are you using a super chip? I have 35s and 3.73 and a 3.8. I use the tow mode and its very peppy now on top a banks ram air intake, and a free flow cat back. What ever you do stop neutral slamming your jeep!

what is neutral slamming.. why is it bad to start from a stop in 1st.

i come up to light. shift into first.green light and i slowly let engine rev up to 3 grand. with 3.21 it isnt sluggish or anything until on highway.

He doesn't rev it in neutral then slam it to gear at 3k lol... He revs it in first to get up to speed faster then uses the slap shift from there up. I also use it to get up to speed on hwy on ramps. Think it's fine for the tranny, I mean why would they have it if It wasn't??

Default under 2000 rpm JKU 2012 3.6

if im accelerating in 2nd 3rd 4th from 1200- 2000 there is an oscillating power surge. coupled with audible surging in intake or exhaust. i can literally feel the surging of the jeep.

va va va va. kinda like that

lets say 40% throttle from 1st to 2nd. perfect. 2nd at 2000rpm

lets say 30% frm 2nd to 3rd 1200rpm

once in 3rd rpms at 1200-2000 at 60% throttle. oscillation starts. even with more input, very slow to get over 2000 and once past 2000 its ok

so 2nd 3rd 4th 1200-2000 rpm any throttle input to gain speed it surges. its very noticible by anyone in the car, i wonder if it could be heard outside.

i have cold air and dual exhaust. thinking ill swap both too stock one at a time and stock all together. my 35 inch tires made it worse

why would torque converter at such low throttle input and power range be slipping.

Whenever there is a noisy ricer Honda next to me I like to switch it over to the manual shifting so I feel like fast and the furious
If its so bad why did Chrysler include it?
