HAs anybody with the 2012 done a ecu swap to run a tuner or anything on their jk? Since they can't get past the stock ecu yet

 

I would wait a few more days till sema is over, there is news that they have cracked the ecu and are doing testing. I'm sure we are all excited to get a tuner for the 11+ years!

 

Yeah didn't think about that, in ready to unleash this new motor and maybe mod a turbo on it but wanted to start with a tuner I just hope they cracke it

 

Diablo Predator is available now for 2011 and in a week or so for 2012. ordered one today for my wifes 2011 and waiting for the one for 2012 for me.

 

I'll keep my eye out for the release

 

RPM Extreme offers a custom tuned computer for the 2012. I have one on my 2012 (first one) and was amazed at the difference it makes. I now have power at 1500 RPMs and the trottle is more smooth (no more stair step throttle). They are at SEMA this week.

The tune is for 91 octane. MPG improved on highway but in town I am about the same if not a little lower. Part of that is me having to relearn the throttle since it it so much smoother and makes power at the lower RPMs. I ran it offroad at Morris Mountain and it worked great. Sadly an old man tagged my driver's side wheel and my jeep is out of commission right now. First impressions are VERY favorable. I am not affiliated with RPM Extreme, just happen to wheel with them.

with this ecu can a flash tuner be ran with it? I wouldnt imagine so, but I would guess it could be tailored to work with a flash programmer. 699 seems high for just a ecu swap. The diesel community can get a ecu with 5 programmed power levels a switch and keep the core for almost that price.

 

I have no idea how much the computers for the jeep cost or what the cost breakdown is on the RPM extreme unit. Give them a call. Don't assume prices for the base components are always equal across the board.
