2012+ Longest front shock with stock driveshaft
I'm trying to max down travel on my 2014 front suspension with the stock drive shaft, what is the longest shock I can run in the front without the stock drive shaft hitting the exhaust? And by how much will that increase with a exhaust spacer?
Thx. |
10" travel

Install a limit strap at the differential so the driveshaft does not contact the exhaust.

Thanks for the tip on the limit strap. I think I have a friend with a forklift that I may use to get some measurements.

Disconnect your sway bar links and shocks and jack the jeep up until the driveshaft hits the exhaust then measure between the upper and lower shock mount. This will give you the maximum length of shock you can run. Then leave the links and shocks disconnected and jack up one wheel until the tire makes contact with the fender. Measure the mounts again for your minimum compressed length.
Once you get these lengths you can search the manufactures websits to find the longest travel with shortest body that will fit on your jeeps set up. |
