Default 2012 resonator delete.

Has anyone done this? Is it louder? Hurt the performance? I plan on doing this on my 2012 2 door and put a flowmaster super 44 in it's place.. Opinions.....?

I deleted mine with a Gibson muffler and it sounded like ass so I then replaced it with a vibrant ultra quiet resonator and it's much better. Are you keeping your stock muffler? You NEED back pressure with these jeeps! Otherwise you loose all your low end and engine braking is gone.

Putting a super 44 in and keeping all the cats. Also piping it all the way back.also I have been running with no muffler for a few months and it seems to be running better even in the low end..

Lol it has a drone even with it but it's not loud enough for me so I'm taking the resonator out as well.

so you're only going to have a super 44 and nothing else after the cats? i think it will sound much different than you imagine. there will most likely be major rasp and drone. you will want a resonator and a muffler if you want a good sound and parallel performance. i swear by vibrant resonators. maybe even that alone will give you what you're looking for. they are straight through but capture all the unwanted side effects of adding aftermarket exhaust. these are little v6's and its really hard to get a perfect sound but i think i may have captured it without the exchange of performance. your idea of the 44 with a performance resonator should yield good results too. but i guess first start out with just the 44, then you can always add to it if need be. good luck, this is no easy task since there aren't many vid clips on the 3.6's. we are the test dummys
