I've got my eye on the Evo Protek skid at Northridge.

I'd recommend the EVO pro Tek skids, and an evap relocation kit.

Default What about JCR?

I don't mean to hijack this thread in any-way but I have some questions about the EVO Protek kits... Since they have been recommended several times I thought you might be able to add some insight. As I am in the market for 12'+ skids too. (Mine is a 13')

1- I do not see a 12+ engine skid on the EVO website, but I do see a complete kit. I'm not really interested in buying individually, but I was trying to get more info on how this skid is installed... I'm not overly happy with the re-use of the oil-pan bolts. Does the 12+ skid still mount this way?
2- For those of you whom have installed the oil-pan bold mounted engine skid... Did you have any issues with leaks afterward? What have your experiences been with warranty issues with this skid mounted this way? (I have often found a striving desire for dealerships to point the blame elsewhere, and this method seems to open the door more than other types)

3- Lastly, (and unrelated to the EVO skids). does anyone have experience with the JCR ones? I was considering them largely due to the alternative engine skid mounting.

Again, I didn;t mean to hijack, but I think the OP might find this info as useful as me.

Thanks!

I like the rockhard engine/tranny skid. I chose it because it doesn't mount to the engine itself, or oil pan. It also comes with recessed bolt protectors so that you don't have to drill out your bolts if you destroy them on rocks.

I'm not familiar with JCR so I can't speak about them. One of the main reasons l like the evo skids is they built their skids to cover what I wanted covered. No unwanted weight in places that I don't need it. The oil pan skid is beefy and as far as mounting it using the oil pan bolts I have no concerns over it, if I damaged it to the point that the dealership would void my warranty I'd have much worse problems going on with my Jeep.

I have the full JCR skid system. All the skid components work great together and are very heavy duty.

The evo skid reuses the oil pan and tranny pan bolts. I have them and have no issues. U don't even break the seal on the oil pan when u install the skid so there's no leaking. I didn't get the whole system. Just got those 2 pieces.
